Trumpeter USS Indianapolis CA-35 (1944) is an injection-molded plastic kit of the American heavy cruiser in 1:350 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the American heavy cruiser USS Indianapolis as she appeared in 1944, from Trumpeter. In 1:350 scale the result is a full-hull model with a great deal of detail. The box holds injection-molded plastic parts, photo-etched parts, a stand with a name plate and the ship's aircraft; check the exact contents on the box.
The heavy cruiser USS Indianapolis entered service in 1932 and during the Second World War served, among other roles, as the flagship of Admiral Spruance in the Pacific. She became famous for the secret delivery of components of the first atomic bomb to the island of Tinian. Shortly afterwards, at the end of July 1945, she was sunk by a Japanese submarine; the loss of the ship is among the most tragic stories in the history of the US Navy.
Build the large model in sections: the hull, the deck, the superstructures, the gun turrets and the cranes. Use liquid cement for plastic and glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. We recommend a primer base and masked spraying with an airbrush following the period camouflage; railings and fine trim raise the realism. The model is full-hull and is displayed on the enclosed stand.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
