Responsibility details are not available.
The set is a detail accessory for a plastic kit, not a model of the ship. It contains photo-etched metal parts for a model of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz in 1:350 scale. Eduard releases the detailing of the Nimitz as a multi-part range, because several numbered parts follow on from each other and this is the fourth of them. The individual parts cover different areas of the ship, so they can be bought gradually according to where the builder has got to.
On large ship models it is exactly photo-etched sheet that takes a model furthest. Railings, nets, ladders, antennas, grilles and platforms are a few centimeters thick in reality, so in injection-molded plastic they come out disproportionately thick. Thin metal sheet manages them in a matching thickness, and thanks to that a finished model looks substantially more convincing, above all in the silhouette of the superstructure and at the edges of the flight deck.
Cut the parts off on a hard surface with a sharp scalpel or photo-etch shears, and never break them out. They can be bent in a simple bender or between two razor blades, and the bend should be run along the marked engraved line. They are glued with super glue applied in a minimal amount, best of all with the tip of a wire. It is advisable to degrease the metal before painting and to spray it with primer, otherwise the paint peels. Fit longer straight parts, such as railings, only after the hull has been sprayed.
