A masking set for a model of the American battleship BB-63 Missouri in 1:350 scale, in her Second World War form.
Responsibility details are not available.
The battleship Missouri with hull number BB-63 entered service in 1944 and headed straight for the Pacific. She covered the raids on the Japanese islands and took part in the operations off Iwo Jima and Okinawa, where in April 1945 a suicide aircraft struck her side without causing any serious damage. The wartime form of the ship differs considerably from the later, modernized one, and it is exactly the wartime form this set is aimed at.
Masking parts for a model of the Missouri in 1:350 scale. A mask is stuck onto an area that is to stay in a different shade while spraying, and once it is removed a sharp boundary is left of a kind you cannot achieve with a transition painted by hand. Which areas the set covers and in what order they are applied are in the manufacturer's instructions; lay the parts out before sticking them on and compare them with the model.
The set is for builders of ship models who care about clean transitions between shades and do not want to mask complicated outlines laboriously with tape. It is useful above all where the deck has a different shade from the surrounding areas. The ship model, paints and glue are not supplied, unless stated otherwise.
