A set of Decalcas decals in 1:24 scale with the symbols of the fire extinguisher and of the battery cut-off switch. It is not the marking of one particular car but the general safety signs that practically every racing special carries, whatever the marque and the category.

What the symbols on a car are for

The circle with a letter shows the marshals where the control of the fire suppression system is, and the triangle with a lightning bolt marks the main electrical cut-off switch. Both signs have to be clearly legible from outside the car, so that a rescue crew does not lose time searching in an accident. On a model the effect is the same: as long as they are not on the body, the build looks more like a road car than a racing machine, even when all the interior details are otherwise in place.

Where to place them on a model

• The cut-off sign belongs near the windshield or the base of the wiper.
• The symbol of the fire suppression system goes by the control position at the door of the car.
• Cut each sign out separately, so that the edges do not overlap the neighboring one.
• Once dry, check that the artwork is clearly legible even after the varnish has been knocked back.
