A set of pre-cut masks of masking paper for painting the frames around the windows on a model of the Audi Sport quattro S1 rally car. The shapes are cut exactly to the parts of the kit, so there is no drawing, measuring or correcting of uneven edges, which anyone would notice on glossy bodywork.
The Sport quattro S1 was among the most extreme cars ever to start in rallying. It came from shortening the production quattro, received a turbocharged five-cylinder engine and huge wings meant to press the car down on fast sections. It was in exactly this form that it became the symbol of the wildest era of rallying, which ended when the whole category was banned.
Degrease the glass before applying the mask. Stick the mask down and press the edges carefully, because that is where paint most often creeps underneath. Spray in thin coats, as a heavy application runs under the edge. Lift the mask off while the paint is still not fully hard, slowly and at a sharp angle. Do not use aggressive thinners on clear parts, as they will dull the surface.
The masks are an accessory, not a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
