The Battery master switch accessory stands for the rotary cut-off switch that breaks the feed from the battery in a sports car. It goes into a model as a finished item, in the interior or on the body, and it is not a kit or a body part in its own right. The 1:12 scale puts the part among large models, where the equipment around the crew is visible without a magnifier.
After a crash or in a fire the electrical circuit has to be broken at once and without a lengthy search. The cut-off switch therefore sits in a place that both the crew and the marshals know and can reach, and on many cars it is also operated from outside through the body. For a modeler it is one of the items that mark a competition machine rather than a production car at first glance, because in an ordinary car nothing of the kind is in sight.
Before you seat the part for good, go through photographs of your own car, because the position differs with the design and with the rules the car ran under. On the real car the area around the control is usually clearly marked, so if you want to reproduce it, leave it until the part is in place. In an interior at this scale it pays to carry the wiring leaving the switch through as well, because a control without a cable looks unfinished.
