The McLaren Senna Twin exhaust is the version of the tip with two outlets. Alongside it the brand also makes a version with three tubes, so the choice depends on which form of the car the modeler wants to build. The part is fitted to the rear of a body being finished and does not replace the kit.
Cars of the top range are made in small series and their rear end changes during production and after it. An example from the first deliveries looks one way, a machine prepared for the track another, and a car whose owner had a different system fitted another again. The number and the spacing of the outlets is the most conspicuous difference of all, because it sits in the middle of the rear and cannot be overlooked. The only reliable guide for the decision is photographs of the particular car that becomes the subject.
Two outlets side by side give away every deviation in angle, so seat the part dry first and look at it from behind at a distance. A metal surface stands out against a dark background, so darken the area behind the tip before you start gluing. A gentle polish of the outside with a cotton swab gives the metal a depth that paint alone cannot reach. Inside the tubes, by contrast, leave a matte black and add only a hint of deposits at the edge, so the outlet does not look freshly made.
