A set of resin parts that replaces the places where the plastic kit of the endurance Ford GT is simplified. That mainly means the rear diffuser, the filler necks, the compressed air intake and the steering wheel, that is the parts that are clearly visible on a finished model and whose simplification shows. The parts were designed in a three-dimensional environment, so the shapes follow the real subject rather than what a mold parting line allows. The set is cut for the Ford GT kit from Revell, which matters on this item, because a model of the same car in the same scale is made by another brand as well and the parts will not fit it.
The Ford GT returned to endurance racing in 2016, exactly half a century after the famous victory of its predecessor, and it was built on modern engineering with a turbocharged six-cylinder engine and extensive use of carbon fiber composite. The shape of the car set it clearly apart from its rivals, because the aerodynamics led the air through ducts straight across the rear of the bodywork.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap so that traces of mold release agent disappear. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the mating surfaces, and sand with your airways protected. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Dry-fit the parts first and work out how much plastic has to come off the model. Apply a primer before painting.
