Rims in the Borrani style for a model of the Ferrari 250 GTO in 1:24 scale. The wire lacing that a plastic wheel from a kit usually lacks.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Ferrari 250 GTO is a racing grand tourer from the first half of the 1960s and today one of the most sought-after cars of all. Under its long hood sits a V12 engine, and the shape of the body came more from testing on the track than from calculation in a wind tunnel. Borrani wire rims belong to the look of the car, that is wheels with a metal lacing of the kind the Italian brand supplied to the sports and racing cars of the period.
Rims in the Borrani style for a model of the Ferrari 250 GTO in 1:24 scale. A wheel makes up a conspicuous area on a car model and decides the final impression sooner than the shade of the paint, and the fine lacing is exactly where a plastic wheel from a kit usually loses out. How many pieces the package holds and whether tires belong to it are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
If the parts are not polystyrene, glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), because ordinary cement for kits has no effect on them. The diameter of the hub and the width of the wheel differ between kits, so try the fit dry before you glue anything permanently. Wash the surface before painting and let it dry. The lacing comes out when a dark filling shade is drawn into it after painting and the spokes are then lightly gone over with a lighter tone.
For builders of models of historic racing and sports cars in 1:24 scale who are bothered by the simplified wheels from the box. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
