Fast Guide - 935 K3 is a Komakai modeling publication devoted to the Porsche 935 in the K3 form from the Kremer team. A book, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This Komakai publication from the Fast Guide edition deals with the Porsche 935 in the K3 form. It serves a modeler as reference material on the real subject, and neither the model itself nor its parts are included in the package.
The Group 5 rules allowed practically any bodywork around a production basis, and so out of the Porsche 911 came a car that shares mainly the shape of its roof with its civilian ancestor. The German team of the Kremer brothers took the works 935 and reworked it into the K3 version: different charge air cooling, a new body of light composites, reworked airflow around the car and a massive rear wing. The air-cooled turbocharged boxer engine behind the rear axle gave the power with which the K3 won the twenty-four-hour race at Le Mans outright in 1979, an extraordinary result for a private team's car derived from a production coupe. Kremer later supplied the K3 to other teams, so the car ran in dozens of color schemes.
It is precisely with Group 5 cars that a kit and reality often part company: every example had its cooling done differently, different accessories on the body and a differently arranged interior. Knowing the real subject therefore decides whether a model matches one particular car or only the type in general.
