M6 GT3 Walkenhorst Blue is the blue of the endurance BMW M6 GT3 of the German team Walkenhorst Motorsport, winner of the twenty-four hour race at the Nürburgring in 2018.
Responsibility details are not available.
The shade refers to one specific entry of one specific car: the BMW M6 GT3 in the colors of the German private team Walkenhorst Motorsport. On it the blue was not an accent beside a logo but the main color of the whole body, on which white and light elements appeared only in the graphic panels around the racing number.
The M6 GT3 was an endurance special built to the rules of the GT3 class, with a large-displacement turbocharged engine set in the middle of the front of the car and a body widened far beyond the outline of the production coupe. In 2018 the team from Lower Saxony won the twenty-four hour race on the northern loop of the Nürburgring with it, one of the most demanding endurance events there is. The winning car has been a favorite subject ever since and its blue is among the most recognizable colors of current GT3 machinery. The rich tone also carries the large flat panels that the body of this coupe has in unusual quantity.
The most will be got out of it by builders of modern endurance cars who want a blue tied to one specific entry. The range offers shades named after cars, so a scheme can be put together from one family. What decides is the season of the entry: the team ran the car for several seasons in a row, the racing numbers and the layout of the light elements changed, and the winning car from the Eifel is only one of the forms in which the blue body raced.
