488 Pista Red, the red of a track-sharpened Ferrari

The word pista means track in Italian and captures what set this version apart from the ordinary coupe. The Number Five shade is therefore a modern deep red of present-day cars from Maranello, not the patinated red of historic racing machines.

The car behind the name of the shade

The Ferrari 488 Pista appeared in 2018 as a lightened variant of the 488 GTB tuned for the track. Its turbocharged V8 of just under four liters was among the most powerful units of its kind, and the engineering of the car came from the 488 Challenge and GTE racing programs. The Pista is recognized by its wide front splitter, a hood with a venting channel and a lightened interior with carbon shells. Many customers chose a two-color stripe along the whole length of the body for it, under which the base red stands out all the more boldly.
