The LaFerrari Red shade from Number Five comes from the paint of the LaFerrari hybrid supercar, presented in 2013.
Responsibility details are not available.
The color belongs to a car from an entirely different technical epoch than the historic red models. The LaFerrari arrived at a time when even the most powerful cars began to take an electric motor to their aid, and its red matches modern paints with a deep gloss.
The LaFerrari appeared in 2013 as the successor to the Enzo and the top of the brand's range. It joined a naturally aspirated V12 with electric drive derived from the energy recovery system of the racing programs, which made it the first hybrid car at the head of the model line. The body was made from carbon composites and the car was built in a strictly limited series for selected customers, later joined by an open variant. Sharp edges and strongly shaped flanks make the car a rewarding object for a glossy paint in which reflections break.
Builders of present-day road machines for whom the historic muted reds do not suit a modern body will reach for it. The open variant with a removable roof section came a few years after the coupe and carried the same body solution, so the shade covers both forms. No chart number of the maker of the car is given for it and none is invented here, and with a body as broken up as this, the perception of depth is moreover much affected by the light in a display case.
