Blue from competition color schemes is cleaner and livelier than dark sedan blues, because it had to set a car apart in the terrain and in a photograph. This shade is listed in the Number 5 range and takes its name from the car designated Polo R WRC. It comes in on a body, on covers and spoilers and on the accessories around a car.
Sand the surface smooth, wash it and degrease it. On greasy plastic acrylic paint pulls into beads and under masking tape it lifts off. Stir the container thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles to the bottom and badly stirred paint covers unevenly. Let a washed body dry properly before the first coat, as residual moisture in the gaps will come out under the paint.
Apply several thin coats with a short pause between them. Thin it with the thinner meant for this range of paints; the thinning ratio and the pressure in the airbrush are given by the manufacturer in the instructions on the packaging. The color schemes of competition cars are made up of sharp areas and decals, so count on masking and on extra decals. Apply masking tape only onto a fully dried coat, and lay the decals on a smooth surface; on a rough or matte one, air will be trapped under them and the edges will whiten.
For builders of models of competition cars who want a ready shade matching the name of a color scheme. It is a paint on its own; thinner, clear varnish, decals and spraying equipment are not supplied with it, unless stated otherwise.
