F1 2000 Red is a racing red named after the single-seater with which Michael Schumacher brought the Italian stable its first drivers' title in twenty-one years in 2000.
Responsibility details are not available.
The shade refers to the single-seater of the 2000 season. The racing red on it did not cover large continuous surfaces as on road coupes but a finely divided body full of transitions, raised sections and curves, where the tone changes with the angle at which the light falls.
The 2000 season ended a long wait for the Italian stable: Michael Schumacher won nine grands prix and took the drivers' world title, the first for the brand since 1979, when Jody Scheckter had won it. The stable added the constructors' cup to it. Behind the technical concept of the car stood a design team led by Rory Byrne, Ross Brawn was the technical director and a naturally aspirated V10 powered the single-seater. This season started the run of titles that then continued into the middle of the decade.
The shade will be appreciated by builders of single-seaters of the turn of the millennium, because the racing red of this stable shifted over the years and one universal color is not enough for all the seasons. It will also be used in assembling a collection of winning cars year by year, where the transition between individual models is meant to be smooth. On the real subject the red moreover sits next to the white fields of sponsors and the dark areas around the cockpit, so three tones meet on one car and none of them may run over the edge of a part.
