HP4 Race Blue is the blue from the trio of BMW racing colors, in which it is the middle stripe on the bodywork of the HP4 Race circuit machine.
Responsibility details are not available.
A blue derived from the graphics of the BMW HP4 Race circuit machine. On the motorcycle it does not make up the basic surface but a stripe that separates the light field from the red, and that is exactly why it matters that it keeps its depth even in a narrow band, where there is little of it.
Under the bodywork works an inline four-cylinder of nine hundred and ninety-nine cubic centimeters with an output of around two hundred and fifteen horsepower, while the weight of the machine stays well under two hundred kilograms. The combination of blue, violet and red has accompanied the brand's racing program since the middle of the 1970s and has appeared on its competition cars and motorcycles ever since. On this subject it is carried by stripes run across the bodywork and the tank, so it repeats on both sides of the machine and has to be the same from either side.
Modelers who build the brand's competition machines and want all three colors of its scheme from the same line, so that they fit one another. The shade will also serve with conversions and invented schemes, where a racing combination is carried over onto another machine. On the real subject the stripe moreover changes its width with the panel it runs across, as it is narrow on the fairing and widens on the flank of the bodywork, so it is masked in parts and the join at a dividing gap has to fit.
