320i E46 White is a white shade from the Number Five line, tied to the BMW 320i of the E46 generation in the form of a touring race car. White does not work here as a neutral coat but as a deliberately chosen surface that the stripes and lettering only then complete.
The E46 generation was built from the second half of the 1990s and its four-cylinder 320i version became one of the most successful cars of the European circuit series at the turn of the millennium. The sedan with a short tail and a low roof carried a light body, across which motorsport stripes and sponsor graphics ran. The Number Five line itself confirms it: for the same type of car it also offers a red and a blue shade, so a complete color motif of one car can be put together from the individual tones. A builder therefore does not have to mix tones of their own and risk the shades not agreeing with one another on a single body.
The color suits builders of car models who are after a particular racing finish and need a white without a cast toward yellow. The E46 generation was sold as a sedan, a station wagon, a coupe and a convertible, and the version with the sedan body went onto the circuit. It will be used outside motorsport as well, though, because a white surface tends to be the ground for a whole further layer of graphics on car models.
