A Number 5 modeling paint in a silver shade under the designation Aston DB5 Silver, named after the Aston Martin DB5.
Responsibility details are not available.
A silver shade from the Number 5 brand, named after the Aston Martin DB5. The range carries designations taken from the paints of particular cars, so the paint is aimed at the bodywork of car models. Silver will serve elsewhere too, though, wherever a surface is to be light and cool.
Light silver surfaces reflect light and therefore give away every irregularity that you would not even find under another shade. Scratches from coarser abrasive paper, fingerprints and unfilled gaps come out the moment the surface dries. It pays, then, to sand the body shell with fine paper, wash and degrease it, and only then spray a base coat. A unified smooth base will do more for the result than any number of coats of the top shade.
Stir the paint well before every use, as the pigment settles at the bottom. Spray in several thin coats and let them flash off between passes; a heavy pass gathers into ridges on the edges and goes dark in the recesses. It can only be thinned with the thinner recommended for this range, and the ratio is given in the manufacturer's instructions. Do not touch finished surfaces unnecessarily until they are dry, and close the jar as soon as you have taken paint out.
For builders of car models who want a shade matching the subject and do not want to find a silver by trial and error. The model, the base coat, the thinner and the clear varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
