F6F-5 Hellcat - 3D color interior 1:32 (Quinta Studio)

A set of 3D decals from the maker Quinta Studio meant for detailing the cockpit of a model of the American carrier fighter Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat. These are full-color, raised elements printed on carrier decal paper, from which they slide into place after a short soak in water. It is not an etched or resin set, but finished color 3D detail. It is based on the dimensions of the Trumpeter kit.

The real subject

The Grumman F6F Hellcat was an American carrier fighter of the Second World War that became the backbone of the fighter force of the US Navy in the Pacific. The F6F-5 version brought a number of improvements and was the most widespread variant. The instrument panel, the sidewalls and the seat with its belts make up the striking elements of the cockpit, which this set captures faithfully.

Use

• coat the area of the cockpit with gloss varnish (Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22) and let it dry
• cut the part out of the sheet, soak it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the paper into place
• it has no adhesive layer of its own and holds on the varnish; on subdivided surfaces a drop of super glue will help
• do not use a decal softener or setter, their chemistry will damage the printed resin
