A stretch of a First World War trench in 1:35 scale. A scenic item for displays of trench warfare and figures of this scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
For a First World War display, a trench is what a street is for a city scene: it establishes where the action takes place and at the same time leads the viewer's eye. This item in 1:35 scale captures a stretch of trench and is ready to be set into a base or into a larger diorama. The scale matches the figures and hardware commonly available, so it can be combined with what you already have.
A trench works best when it runs across the base at an angle and disappears beyond its edge, because the scene then does not end but continues out of sight. Around it you can play out ordinary life in a position: resting, carrying material, observing. Give the figures something to lean on and turn them so that a relationship arises between them.
First seat the item dry and check that it runs on into the surrounding terrain; only then glue it, with a glue chosen according to the material of the part and according to the manufacturer's instructions. Clear the dust off the surface before painting. Earth shades benefit from a pronounced dark glaze into the recesses and a lighter dry brush on the edges. A wet sheen on the floor of the trench and sparse static grass along the edges settle the whole display.
Paints, glue, figures, loose material for terrain and growth are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
