A decal sheet with the markings of the machines of No. 312 Squadron RAF in 1:144 scale, part one.
Responsibility details are not available.
No. 312 Squadron RAF was one of the Czechoslovak fighter units that fought in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. For a Czech modeler it is a subject where the shape of the aircraft is not the only thing that counts: the markings decide, because it is they that turn a model into a particular machine of a particular unit.
This is the first part devoted to this squadron in 1:144 scale. Which machines and which combinations of code letters the sheet covers, and which kit it is cut for, are given in the enclosed instructions. In a scale as small as this the printing has a decisive share in the result, because fine detail of shape is lost and the eye reads mainly colors and markings.
Varnish the place the decal is going onto to a gloss. Cut the element out, soak it for a few seconds, slide it off the paper onto the model and align it with a brush. A decal softener will help the film to settle onto the unevenness of the surface. Once it is dry, go over the area with varnish so that the edge of the film disappears. On a small model it is worth applying the elements one at a time and letting each dry, so that the neighboring films do not shift.
For builders of aircraft in small scales and for anyone who follows the Czechoslovak squadrons in the RAF. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
