Blood Bowl Bases 32mm with Skill Rings is a set of bases 32 mm in diameter supplemented by colored rings that are fitted into the base and taken off again. It is not a figure or a kit: they are gaming components to go under the models of fantasy football players, where a ring serves as a visible marker of a skill or of the current state of a character.
The bases will take ordinary modeling treatment: a base coat, a texture of sand and grass, or on the contrary a clean gaming look without weathering. Leave the recess for the rings clear, though: clogged with paint or modeling putty it stops holding and the ring then falls out. The rings themselves do not have to be painted; their point is precisely good legibility right across the table.
For players of fantasy football who want the state of their team visible on the table instead of in notes, and for modelers who are rebasing older figures onto a uniform diameter of 32 mm. Before rebasing, check that the foot of the model fits into the base.
Telling the rings apart by color works only when a team keeps one key through the whole season. It is worth writing down what each color means and sticking to it with newly rebased players as well.
