Responsibility details are not available.
The set is intended for a model of the German pocket battleship Admiral Graf Spee in 1:400 scale. It deals with the upper surfaces, which are seen first on a display case model, and replaces their smooth molded surface with the texture of wood. The package does not contain the ship herself. The set is intended for the Heller 81046 kit.
The Admiral Graf Spee belonged to the trio of armored ships that were nicknamed pocket battleships for their heavy armament on a small displacement. Six 28 cm guns were complemented by diesel propulsion with an enormous range that conventional steam ships did not have. In the autumn of 1939 she hunted merchant vessels in the South Atlantic, in December three British cruisers caught up with her off the mouth of the River Plate and after a few days in a neutral port her own crew scuttled her. Her commander preferred destroying the ship to fighting against an evident superiority.
Check the fit dry and make sure the surfaces are free of molding residue. Lay it from the stern toward the bow and keep checking that it runs parallel to the centerline; a small deviation at the start multiplies by the end. Then unify the wood grain with a thin coat of a thinned shade and close the whole model at once with a matte varnish.
