Anyone building the ocean liner Queen Mary 2 will value this set from Artwox Model. The model of the passenger ship is not in the package; you are buying covering that sets the extensive promenade areas apart from the rest of the superstructures and gives them the texture the real ship has. On a liner it is exactly these areas that catch the attention. The set is intended for the Revell 05223 kit.
The Queen Mary 2 sailed on her maiden voyage in 2004 and has maintained the regular link between England and New York ever since. The very concept sets her apart from cruise ships: a stronger hull, a bow set deeper and a higher cruising speed, because the North Atlantic can be merciless even in summer. With a length of over three hundred and forty meters she was the largest passenger ship in the world when she was completed, and to this day she is among the best known vessels of all.
A model of a liner has enormous flat areas where every inaccuracy shows. Work in sections therefore and keep checking that the line of the planks follows on. Fit the deck before you glue the railings and the lifeboats on. Light wood contrasts nicely with the dark hull, but avoid exaggerated weathering on a modern ship.
