Injection-molded plastic kit of the German submarine U-295 of Type VII-C/41 in 1:400 scale from Mirage Hobby. The box for this particular boat is rounded out by small Biber midget submarines and decals.
U-295 belonged to the widespread Type VII-C/41, a lightened and revised version of the proven Type VII-C with a lengthened bow that improved its behavior in a seaway. U-295 was adapted so that instead of a deck gun she carried two Biber midget submarines. These one-man craft were armed with torpedoes slung outside the hull and were used for attacks in coastal waters. The Type VII-C was the most widespread German submarine of the war, and the VII-C/41 version was among its late, improved configurations.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade and glue them with thin cement for plastic. The tiny Biber midget submarines need careful cleaning up, so glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Decide whether you are building a full hull on a stand or a waterline version. Apply a primer and airbrush dark gray shades with the deck picked out in a different tone. A thin dark wash will bring out the hatches and the seams.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
