This product is a replacement part for a model of a tank under construction, not a standalone kit. It deals with one particular spot that everyone notices on a finished model: the bore of the gun and the clean transition from the barrel into the turret mantlet. The MASTER brand comes from Poland and specializes in turned parts. The target kit is Academy.
The K2 Black Panther is a South Korean main battle tank taken into service in 2014. It carries a 120 mm smoothbore gun with a barrel length of 55 calibers, made by Hyundai WIA under the designation CN08. A longer barrel than the previous generation raises the muzzle velocity of the round and with it the penetration. The machine ranks among the most modern tanks in its category and also serves in the Polish army, which has made it a rewarding modeling subject in recent years.
Cut the plastic barrel from the box off perpendicular to the axis and carefully widen the opening in the mantlet with a round file so that the replacement drops in without play. Degrease the metal part with alcohol and hold it in position until the cyanoacrylate glue has set; a two-part glue is an alternative that gives more time for alignment. A primer meant for metal is necessary before painting, otherwise the coat sits poorly and rubs off during handling. The bore stays sharp by itself; all it needs is darkening.
The part serves as a replacement for a section of the kit. The glue, the paints and the tank itself are not included in the delivery.
