A set of small parts with American tropical combat boots in 1:48 scale. It belongs to a line of figure accessories that also includes heads, headgear, hands and other small items for alterations and conversions. The boots come into their own when replacing an unsatisfactory part of a figure and as equipment left lying in a scene, where small touches like these give a space a lived-in feel. The parts are not polystyrene, so ordinary plastic cement will not bond them; use cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and dry fit the joint first. Cut off the excess material and the traces of production with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remainder with fine sandpaper so that the shape of the sole is not damaged. Wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap before painting and let them dry completely, otherwise the paint will not hold. A primer is appropriate with this material; only then apply the color and bring out the sole and the stitching with dark shading.
The set is for modelers who alter their figures to their own ideas and for builders of scenes in 1:48 scale. The parts are small, so it pays to work with tweezers with fine jaws, in good light and over a surface from which a tiny part can be found again.
