Extendible civil airport display base 1:144 is a printed base with rectangular concrete panels for presenting models of airliners.
Responsibility details are not available.
This printed paper (card) base from Mark I Models depicts the apron of a civil airport made up of rectangular concrete panels in 1:144 scale. The individual sheets carry on from one another, so they can be extended as you like to create a larger area to match the size of a model or of a whole collection. The base will serve as a realistic setting under models of airliners and ground equipment.
The aprons and taxiways of modern airports are made up of concrete panels separated by expansion joints. It is exactly that pattern the base reproduces faithfully, giving a model of a civil aircraft a believable setting.
Cut the sheets out, back them with a firm board for a flat surface and set the joins so that the panels carry on. The print can be fine-tuned by picking the joints out gently and with a light dirtying, so that the area does not look too clean.
The base serves as a display foundation; a model of an aircraft is not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
