A miniature of the station wagon version of the Skoda Favorit, which was sold under the name Forman. The model corresponds to the year 1993 and is done in a silver metallic with the designation Sapphire, as the name gives. It is supplied finished, so no building or painting awaits it.
The Forman came about as a practical extension of the Favorit range at the start of the nineteen nineties and for a number of households it was the first family car with front-wheel drive. With an extended tail it gained a luggage compartment such as the cars of the marque had not offered in this class until then, and it became an ordinary part of traffic with tradesmen, offices and country families. That is exactly why it ranks today among the types that collectors acquire rather for the memory than for the engineering.
A silver finish with a metallic effect has one practical advantage: settled dust is not as conspicuous on it as on dark cars. On the other hand it will show every trace left by fingers, so handle the model by the roof and the chassis. For photographing choose light from the side, so that the shapes of the pressings appear on the sides. In a collection it goes well with other cars of the same era, because together they draw a picture of what traffic on Czech roads looked like in the nineteen nineties.
