A well in 1:43 scale as an accessory for a diorama. An element that creates a village scene around a model car.
Responsibility details are not available.
A well is one of those elements that give a scene a place and a time faster than anything else. Set at the edge of a yard or by the wall of a house, it says at once that this is a village, an older period and ordinary life around a passing vehicle. The 1:43 scale is the home scale for collectors' car models, so the accessory suits anywhere a car moves out of the display case and into a setting.
This is a stand-alone element of a scene in 1:43 scale. It does not need a whole railway station or an extensive building alongside it; it works even on a small base holding a single vehicle and two or three figures.
Try the arrangement out dry first: the well should stand so that a worn path leads to it and so that it does not block the view of the car. If the accessory is supplied unpainted, wash and degrease it and then apply a base. Stone and render come out well with a dark wash and a lighter dry-brushing along the edges; wood goes gray by degrees and looks best with the grain brought out. Around the foot, dried-out earth, grass and finally stains from spilled water all help. Choose the glue according to the material of the part and fit the accessory only onto a finished base surface.
For collectors of car models in 1:43 scale who build a scene around a vehicle, and for diorama modelers. Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
