The Toyota GR86 sports coupe as a kit with the parts molded in red plastic. Red is among the most commonly seen colors on this car and colored plastic makes it possible to build the model so that it looks finished even without painting. The tooling is new and an engine is included.
The second generation of the GR86 follows on from the joint project of Toyota and Subaru of 2012. The flat-four at the front stayed, as did rear-wheel drive and a gearshift that asks for the hand of the driver. The engine received a larger displacement, the body was stiffened and the suspension moved toward greater stability without the car losing its playfulness. Among fans of sporting driving the model keeps its reputation as an attainable coupe that forgives mistakes and rewards technique.
Red is among the shades on which the base shows most: if you are going to paint, reach for a light primer, otherwise the color will darken needlessly. Anyone who leaves the model in the color of the plastic should remove the traces of the sprue gates all the more carefully, because white scratches are visible from a distance on a red surface. The suspension offers two heights, but match the lowered option with the wheels, so that the car does not sit crooked. You can manage the window frames with the enclosed masks.
The kit comes unassembled and unpainted, and paints and glue have to be obtained separately.
