A kit of the Toyota Crown police sedan with the body designation GRS210 in 1:24 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Toyota Crown is an institution in Japan: a prestige sedan that at the same time has served for decades in police and service fleets. The GRS210 code is the factory body designation of the kind Japanese manufacturers use to distinguish renditions within one model line. The police examples are based on the production car and are complemented by a light bar, warning gear and service fittings, with the two-tone body the most visible part.
In 1:24 scale the sedan works out to roughly twenty centimeters in length. A size like that allows you to give attention to the interior, the wheels and the suspension, and the finished car comes into its own in a collection of service and emergency vehicles, where beside fire and ambulance models a police sedan is never missing.
The most demanding part is a clean boundary between the two colors of the body. It works well to spray the lighter shade first, let it dry out perfectly and only then mask and apply the dark paint. Pull the tape off slowly and diagonally to the edge. Polish the body before applying the decals, as on a smooth gloss surface they will not silver. Glue the clear parts with a cement meant for glazing. The particular procedure and the recommended shades are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The kit is suitable for modelers with basic experience of building cars and for collectors of Japanese service hardware. Paints, glue and other materials are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
