Weeds 1:48 are scenery vegetation for a diorama from the Czech manufacturer Model Scene. The individual weed plants serve to fill the areas between the main elements of a scene.

The package contains individual weed plants for dioramas and vignettes in 1:48 scale. The plants are separated from the sheet, shaped and planted into finished terrain. The manufacturer Model Scene is a Czech company supplying diorama vegetation and scenery materials. It is not a model kit but an accessory. The name gives a range of 1:45 and 1:48.
Weeds are general growth with no botanical species assigned – exactly what fills the gaps in a real landscape. They grow at the edges of fields, between paving, along railroad tracks, by walls, on fill, in ditches and everywhere the soil is left untended. In a diorama they therefore have an irreplaceable function: they break up a monotonous grassy surface, soften the sharp transition between terrain and an object and give a scene the impression of abandonment or neglected upkeep. Without weeds even carefully built terrain looks too tidy.
Plant weeds above all into transitions – at the feet of walls, at the edges of tracks, around stumps, between stones and around places overgrown by ruts. Do not combine the plants at regular intervals: natural growth is denser where there is shade and damp, and thinner on a trodden surface. Bend and turn the clumps slightly so that they do not all stand upright. Glue with cyanoacrylate into a pre-drilled hole or with PVA glue on a soft base; hide the base with a scatter. For greater depth of scene, combine weeds with grass and lower moss.
This is a scenery accessory, not a model kit. The glue, the paints, the base and any further material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
