1:72 Ammunition for 25mm Bushmaster is a small accessory set of rounds of 25 mm caliber for the M242 cannon, reduced to 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set brings scaled-down rounds of the kind the M242 automatic cannon swallows. It is not a vehicle model nor a main part of one, but a small element for fitting out hardware already under construction in a small scale. It will work in the loading compartment, in open crates and lying loose on a diorama, where it reveals at once that the vehicle is in action.
The M242 Bushmaster is an automatic weapon of 25 mm caliber with a chain drive for the breech, turned by an electric motor. It is best known as the main armament of the American Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and of the eight-wheeled LAV-25 carriers, but it also appears on light naval mounts. The ammunition is fed on a belt and the crew carries a stock close to the turret, so on models it tends to be visible right by the hatches and the boxes.
Elements of this size come up only at the end of the build, when the vehicle has its base coat on. Tweezers, a sharp scalpel and thin super glue applied with the tip of a wire all pay off. The brass shade of the case shows best when a dark accent is drawn into the recesses over the metallic paint and the tip of the projectile is set apart in a more matte tone. It is worth keeping the leftover pieces: as scattered ammunition they will serve at any time later.
Paints, glue and the vehicle model itself are not supplied with this set.
