A figure of a German soldier looking a tank over, carried in the name as German Soldier Inspecting A Tank No. 2, in 1:48 scale from Dynamo-Models.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second numbered figure of the German Soldier Inspecting A Tank group of Dynamo-Models in 1:48 scale. The shortened year in the name refers to 1940. The number 2 serves to set it apart from the other figures on the same motif; how the stance differs is shown by the illustration on the packaging.
The year 1940 is linked with the campaign in Western Europe, after which laid-up and damaged vehicles were left by the roads. A view in which a soldier looks a machine over is quiet and non-combat and reads at once in a diorama. It is therefore a diorama accessory to this period.
When you join several figures on the same motif in a view, mix the base shade for each uniform from the same pot but shade them differently - one lighter, the other a little dustier. The scene then reads not as a set of castings but as a group of people. Keep the leather webbing in a darker brown tone and the faces on a shared skin base with the shading led differently. In 1:48 scale the rule is that contrast reads better than a quantity of detail. Dust the shoes and the lower trouser legs with pigment in the color of the terrain and even the whole thing out with matte varnish. Adapt the preparation of the surface to the material of the particular casting.
