Quinta Studio 1:48 A-10 Exterior is a set of 3D printed and painted elements on decal paper, intended for the outer surface of a model of the A-10 ground-attack aircraft in 1:48 scale.

This is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory to a model you already have on the bench. Quinta Studio prints the individual elements in 3D, paints them right away and transfers them onto decal paper. On the model they then take the place of hand painting the small outer details, which in this scale can hardly be managed with a brush so that they hold their shape and their color at the same time. Unlike a classic decal, the finished element has a measurable thickness, so it casts a shadow of its own and looks three-dimensional.
The A-10 is a single-seat twin-engined aircraft intended for the close support of ground troops. Typical features are the high-set engine nacelles, the twin vertical tail surfaces and the extensive armor around the pilot's area. The surface of the machine is densely dotted with service covers, panels and small outer elements, and those are exactly what decides the final impression on a model.
The procedure is as with a decal: the element is cut out, soaked for a few seconds and slid onto a surface prepared with a gloss varnish. The difference is that the carrying 3D layer is thicker and that it is printed resin. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as the chemicals attack the printed resin. The elements seat better on flat and gently curved areas; press them into edges with a cotton swab. Once they are dry, go over the surroundings with a matte varnish so that the gloss of the undercoat disappears.
For the A-10 Quinta Studio also makes 3D interior sets, whereas this one is for the outside. Sets of this kind tend to be cut for a particular kit, so before buying compare the exact designation of the set with your model.
The set is an accessory to a model, not a kit in its own right. The model, paints and varnishes are not included in the package.
