An injection-molded plastic kit of the Fairchild A-10C Thunderbolt II ground-attack aircraft in 1:48 scale from Hobby 2000. This boxing is aimed at combat service in Operation Inherent Resolve and combines proven plastic parts from Academy with decals and masking film. Unlike the version with special color schemes, this one carries the everyday combat markings of aircraft from the fighting against the so-called Islamic State.
The A-10 Thunderbolt II, nicknamed the Warthog, is an American single-seat ground-attack aircraft for close support of ground troops. It carries a seven-barrel 30 mm rotary cannon and is famous for its toughness and for the wide range of stores it can hang. The A-10C version brought modernized avionics and precision-guided munitions. Within Operation Inherent Resolve the A-10 operated over the Middle East from roughly the middle of the 2010s.
Use thin cement for plastic and finish and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage. Lay down primer before the finish and apply the paints with an airbrush; the masks supplied make crisp transitions and clean canopy glazing easier. A gray camouflage with restrained service wear is typical of combat schemes. Assemble the pylons and the weapons separately and fit them only at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
