Eduard 1:48 A-1H SPACE is a set of pre-printed 3D decals for the cockpit equipment of the Douglas A-1H Skyraider model in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory for the base kit.

A set from the SPACE range by the Czech manufacturer Eduard for the model of the Douglas A-1H Skyraider in 1:48 scale. These are not photo-etched or resin parts in the usual sense; they are elements with a raised relief printed on decal paper, with their color finished at the factory. Eduard offers several accessories for the same aircraft with very similar names, and the individual ranges are told apart by the exact designation of the set; this one belongs to the SPACE decal range. The base kit is not included in the package.
On a model in 1:48 scale the cockpit is the first place a viewer looks at, and at the same time the place where a plastic molding offers only suggested relief. SPACE sets aim exactly there: the equipment of the cockpit gains a raised shape and a finished color at once, so that painting small dials and switches with a brush falls away. The work is thus substantially quicker and the result more even than when every detail is picked out by hand.
The color is printed at the factory, so nothing is oversprayed onto it. Spray and weather the rest of the cockpit as usual, but choose the shade so that it matches the tone of the set, because if the surrounding interior diverges markedly, a mismatched part strikes the eye more than poorer detail would. The surface under the decal must be smooth and glossy, since a matte surface will leave a white veil under the film. At the end the area is evened out with a matte varnish, so that the sheen of the decal does not contrast with its surroundings, and a fine wash is run only around the elements, not over them. The set is fitted after the interior has been sprayed and before the fuselage is closed. Do not use a decal softener with the SPACE range, because it attacks the printed resin.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
