A resin replacement for the barrels for models of the Douglas A-26 Invader in 1:48 scale. This is a detail accessory for a model under construction, not a standalone kit. The designation type B in the name distinguishes this execution from the other sets of the same line; which parts differ in it is specified on the box.
The Invader carried part of its armament in the wings and the barrels protrude from the leading edge. Such thin and long parts are among the most troublesome in injected plastic: they have a mold seam along their length, they tend to be thicker than the scale would call for, and they bend easily while being cleaned up. A resin casting offers straight geometry, a smooth surface without a seam and a cleanly finished muzzle. The number of pieces in the package is stated on the box.
Wash the castings first in lukewarm soapy water. Separate them from the casting block with a fine saw over a light-colored tray so that the small part does not get lost; never break them off, as a thin barrel will snap. Level the end at a right angle to the axis. Before gluing it into the leading edge, check the depth and the diameter of the opening and if necessary drill it out with a fine drill, so that the barrel does not protrude more than it should. It is glued with super glue, which you should apply in the smallest possible amount with a piece of wire or a toothpick, because cyanoacrylate leaves a matte mark on the clear coat. In color dark steel suits it; the muzzle can be brought out lightly with graphite. Leave the barrels to the end of the build.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
