Quickboost A-36A Apache exhaust is a resin set of replacement exhausts for a model of the A-36A attack version of the Mustang in 1:48 scale. This is not an airplane model but a detail accessory that replaces the plastic exhausts from a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set of the Quickboost brand (a production range of the Aires company) holds resin exhaust pipes for the A-36A dive attack version of the Mustang in 1:48 scale. It is a detail accessory for a kit, not a stand-alone model. The castings stand out for the fine rendering of the exhaust outlets, which in injection-molded plastic tend to be blanked off.
The North American A-36A Apache was the attack and dive bombing version of the famous P-51 Mustang fighter, powered by an Allison engine. It differed from the fighter Mustangs in its dive brakes for the diving attack and was deployed above all in the Mediterranean and in Italy. The row of exhausts projected along the sides of the fuselage behind the engine.
First wash the mold release residue off the parts, carefully cut off the casting blocks and clean up the surface. Bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Use respiratory protection while sanding. The exhausts come out well in metallic shades and with pigments for the effect of burnt steel and soot.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
