This set is a resin accessory from the Quickboost (Aires) brand in 1:48 scale, not a stand-alone model of the airplane. It holds faithfully cast barrels and muzzles of the 30 mm DEFA cannon, with which the Israeli Air Force armed its Skyhawks in place of the original American guns. It replaces the simplified parts from the kit and is meant for experienced modelers.
The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk was an American single-seat carrier-based light attack aircraft with one jet engine, valued for its simplicity and reliability. The Israeli Air Force rearmed its Skyhawks with French 30 mm DEFA cannon, which had a greater destructive effect than the original armament. In Israeli service the machine was committed intensively to attacks on ground targets.
These are resin castings for advanced builders. First wash the parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and clean up the cut surfaces, always with respiratory protection. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Take care to line the barrels up correctly. For greater realism the muzzles can be drilled out finely and painted in metallic shades.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin set. The kit of the aircraft, the glue, the paints and any other accessories are not included in the package.
