A set of photo-etched metal parts for a model of the A-4C Skyhawk carrier attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. The thin, finely detailed sheet replaces the places where injection-molded plastic is necessarily thicker than the subject would call for.
The Skyhawk was designed in the middle of the 1950s as the smallest and lightest possible carrier attack aircraft. The small span meant that the wing did not have to fold, so the machine stayed simple and light. The A-4C version followed on from the earlier A-4B and carried equipment for use in poor visibility, among other things a radar in a lengthened nose. The type stayed in service for decades and became one of the most widespread carrier attack aircraft of its day.
For modelers who are building the Skyhawk in 1:48 scale and want to take it beyond the contents of the box. Working with photo-etch calls for tweezers, a sharp blade and patience, but the result is a fineness that a plastic part cannot match.
The package contains the photo-etched parts only. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
