This resin detail set from Aires in 1:48 scale extends and refines a kit of the Douglas A-4E/F Skyhawk carrier-based attack aircraft. It is not an aircraft kit but a comprehensive accessory that adds finely made resin parts where the injection-molded plastic is simplified. The set is intended for more experienced modelers.
The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk was a compact American carrier-based attack aircraft of the Cold War era, flown among other theaters in the Vietnam War. It was marked by its small size, its delta wing and its simple, rugged structure, thanks to which it stayed in service for many decades. The A-4E/F versions were among the more powerful standards; the F had the characteristic dorsal hump with avionics.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The fine details come into their own with a suitable choice of shades and accentuated shadows. Before gluing, check that the parts seat in the base kit and rework the surfaces if necessary.
