A resin detail set from Aires in 1:48 scale for improving the cockpit of a plastic kit of the Douglas A-4M Skyhawk light attack aircraft. It holds finely cast cockpit parts with relief of the instrument panel, the side consoles and the ejection seat. It is not an airplane model but an accessory replacing the original cockpit from the kit.
The A-4 Skyhawk was an American single-seat light carrier-based attack aircraft with characteristically small dimensions and a delta wing. The A-4M version was a late form with a more powerful engine and an enlarged dorsal avionics hump. It served, among others, with the Marine Corps.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts and separate them from the casting blocks. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and sand with respiratory protection. Check the fit before closing the fuselage. The interior usually calls for a darker cockpit shade, a dry brush on the edges and a wash into the recesses.
