An accessory set for a model of the Japanese floatplane fighter A6M2-N Rufe in 1:48 scale. It serves for completing a kit, and a model on its own cannot be built from it.
Responsibility details are not available.
The A6M2-N is a Japanese floatplane fighter of the Second World War, derived from the A6M2 carrier fighter. The Allies gave it the code name Rufe. Instead of a wheeled undercarriage it carries a large central float on struts under the fuselage and two smaller auxiliary floats under the wings, so that it could take off from and land on water where there was no airfield or aircraft carrier. The silhouette changes markedly compared with the original machine, and the floats with their struts are what catches the eye first on a finished model.
An accessory for a model of the A6M2-N in 1:48 scale, intended for completing a kit. The extent of the package, the position of the parts on the model and which kit the set is cut for are given in the maker's instructions.
Choose the glue according to the material of the parts: an ordinary cement for plastic models holds only on polystyrene, and on other materials use cyanoacrylate. Cut the excess material and the marks left by production off with a sharp blade a little away from the part, sand the remainder and wash and degrease the surface before painting. Dry-fit the small parts before gluing and glue the float struts on a flat surface, so that the float sits symmetrically in relation to the fuselage. On floatplanes the wear concentrates on the underside and the sides of the floats, where the machine came up to the shore and to a jetty.
The kit of the aircraft, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
