1:48 A6M3 model 22 / A6M5 model 52, closed cockpit glazing with covers refines the pilot's compartment on a model of the late versions of the Japanese Zero.
Responsibility details are not available.
The item completes a model already obtained with more accurate glazing. The cover is formed in the closed position and relates to two particular production forms of the Japanese naval fighter, which differ from the early machines in the wing.
The model 22 meant a return to the long rounded wing, but already with the more capable powerplant that the form with clipped tips had received before. The combination brought range and better behavior at altitude. The model 52 then shortened the wing again, this time with rounded tips, and received individual exhaust pipes led along the fuselage, which added a little extra thrust. The differences in the wing and in the exhaust are precisely what tells the two forms apart most conspicuously, while the pilot's compartment stayed similar on them.
Collectors of the late versions of the Zero and modelers who tell individual production forms apart. It also suits a build with no uncovered interior. A closed cover at the same time simplifies finishing, because the inside does not have to be worked out to the last rivet.
