The AH-64D is the later form of the American Apache attack helicopter. The machine has a narrow fuselage with a two-seat cockpit arranged one behind the other, stub wings with beams for the ordnance and a traversing turret with a cannon under the forward part of the fuselage. Some of the machines of this version carry a conspicuous radar housing above the head of the main rotor, by which it can be recognized at first glance.
These are color three-dimensional elements that are applied onto finished plastic parts and take the place of hand painting the small details of the cockpit. Against a coat laid on with a brush they have a three-dimensional relief and legible lettering even where there is no longer room for brushwork. Which kit the set fits and which parts it covers are stated by the manufacturer's instructions; go through them in full before you set to work.
Before applying them, check in the instructions whether the elements are self-adhesive. The procedure for applying them differs between the individual lines, so do not start the work before you have confirmed it in the manufacturer's instructions. The undercoat has to be smooth, clean and degreased, otherwise the element will not bear down over its whole area. Separate the elements with a sharp blade or tweezers, lay them down one at a time and press them with a cotton swab from the center toward the edges. Keep to the order in which the parts of the cockpit go together, otherwise you will not reach some of the areas later.
The set contains only elements for detailing. The helicopter kit, paints and glue are not part of it unless stated otherwise.
