A set of photo-etched parts for a model of the AH-64D attack helicopter in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory for a kit that replaces the thicker plastic parts with thin metal.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set brings photo-etched parts for a model of the AH-64D helicopter in 1:48 scale. A photo-etched fret is thin metal sheet with an etched shape, thanks to which it can replace the parts that cannot be made in plastic at the right thickness: grilles, loops, clips, belt buckles or thin strips. Which particular parts of the machine the set covers and which kit it is cut for are given in the instructions of the manufacturer.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard backing, not by twisting; otherwise the sheet is deformed and the bend will never come out straight again. Sand the remaining stub left by the bridge with a fine file or a sanding sponge. Make the bends in a photo-etch bending tool, or between the jaws of flat pliers, always along the etched score. Photo-etched parts are not glued with cement for plastic models; cyanoacrylate glue or solder holds them.
Before painting, wash and degrease the metal, or the paint will not hold on the smooth surface and will flake when handled. A thin coat of primer helps. Do not glue the small parts with your fingers but with tweezers over a tray with a raised edge, so that a part that springs away does not vanish from the bench. Work in stages and let the glue dry thoroughly each time. Dose cyanoacrylate glue in a minute amount, best of all with a pin from a drop set aside on a piece of plastic; any excess is hard to remove from metal and fills the etched detail in.
The model of the helicopter, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
