Self-adhesive die-cut masks, Eduard 1:48 An-2, in kabuki tape for quick, accurate masking of the cockpit glazing and the wheels of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A precisely die-cut self-adhesive masking set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the Soviet Antonov An-2 general-purpose biplane in 1:48 scale. The set is made of yellow kabuki tape, which follows flat and curved surfaces well and, once the edges are pressed down, gives a sharp, clean color transition.
The An-2 has extensive cockpit glazing with a great many frames and side windows, and masking it by hand tends to be slow. Pre-cut masks speed the work up markedly and make sure the glass stays clean and the frames have sharp edges. The set also includes circular masks for the hubs and wheel rims, for an easy separation of tire from rim.
Lift the individual masks carefully off the backing with pointed tweezers, lay them on the part and press the edges down thoroughly, for instance with a toothpick or a piece of tissue, so that paint cannot creep under the edge. Cover the larger areas of glass between the frames with a strip of ordinary tape or with liquid mask. Spray the paint in thin layers and peel the masks off while the finish is fresh — the edges will then be at their sharpest.
This is a self-adhesive masking set, not a model. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
