AN/AAQ-13 LANTIRN pod 1:48 is a resin detail set faithfully reproducing the navigation pod of the LANTIRN system.

This set is NOT an airplane model but a resin accessory with photo-etched parts and a mask. It faithfully reproduces the AN/AAQ-13 navigation pod that forms part of the LANTIRN system for low-level flight and attack at night. The castings are intended for models of combat aircraft in the same 1:48 scale that carried this pod.
The navigation pod carried a terrain-following radar and a wide-angle infrared system, thanks to which strike aircraft could operate at night and in poor visibility. It is added to a model as a store and completes its armament and equipment.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The optical faces come into their own once a base and a gloss clear coat have been applied; use the enclosed mask for a clean border around the windows. Sand with respiratory protection.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
